This is an update of a Publisher Profile we published in 2014. You can read the original profile here.

Wiley is a multinational company that focuses on academic publishing and instructional materials. In 2007, Wiley (formerly known as John Wiley & Sons) and Blackwell Publishing, whose roots date back to the 19th century, merged to form Wiley-Blackwell, an imprint of Wiley that publishes a diverse range of academic and professional fields, including biology, medicine, physical sciences, technology, social science, and the humanities.

Much of the Wiley-Blackwell catalog can be found on its proprietary website, Wiley Online Library, which also happens to be one of our ebook discoverability partners, providing links from titles on Doody’s Review Service and Doody’s Core Titles directly to information about the online versions.

Wiley-Blackwell and its former entities have been participating publishers in Doody’s Review Service since 1993, sending us thousands of titles to this day. Since our last Publisher Profile in 2014, we’ve received 809 Wiley-Blackwell titles and 409 of them have been reviewed. Doody’s Core Titles 2022 features 95 Wiley-Blackwell titles, with 20 of them chosen as Essential Purchase Titles.
