Christopher Hughes, PT, PhD, is one of our longest serving Editorial Review Group Chairs, having held the position since 1999. As Chair of the Physical Therapy Editorial Review Group, he has recruited 46 reviewers to write reviews of over 200 of the 400 titles we have sent him, and he’s still going strong!
Currently Professor of Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University, Dr. Hughes received his PhD in Sports Medicine in 1990 from the University of Virginia and his MPT degree in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University in 1993. He received his Board Certification in Orthopaedics (OCS) in 2001 and maintains regular clinical practice and research interests in orthopedics and sports medicine.
He has held various leadership positions at the state and national levels within the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr Hughes is editor of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice magazine and the independent home study courses for the Orthopaedic Section of the APTA. He also has served as manuscript reviewer for a number of journals including Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Journal, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
