Dr. Margaret Reilly has been a Doody’s Review Service book reviewer since 2023. She reviews book titles in vascular surgery under Editorial Review Group Chair Dr. Mark Eskandari.
Dr. Reilly is completing her vascular surgery training at Northwestern University in Chicago. She obtained her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. During her residency training, she obtained a Master of Science in Health Services and Outcomes Research from Northwestern University. Her research interests include patient knowledge about peripheral artery disease and patient outcomes, which she investigates through a mixed-methods lens using quantitative and qualitative research methodology. She is passionate about surgical education and medical student mentorship.
Participating in the Doody’s Review Service has allowed her the opportunity to think critically about emerging and established knowledge in vascular surgery. She enjoys staying up to date on recent publications on all aspects of vascular pathology. Doody’s Review Service introduces her to sources and topics that she would not otherwise encounter. One recently reviewed book, Microsurgery 101: Tips and Tricks for Microvascular and Peripheral Nerve Repair Techniques, was a delight to review and provided the opportunity to learn about vascular anastomoses from authors of a different discipline, ultimately enriching her understanding of the topic.
