Dr. Maradith Skalak became the Editorial Review Group Chair for Neonatology for Doody’s Review Service in 2024 after serving as a book reviewer since 2022. She succeeds her former Chair, Dr. Jay P. Goldsmith, whose tenure with us spanned over two decades. To date, Dr. Skalak has written 24 reviews with us and is growing her team of neonatal experts to provide full coverage of the specialty. 

Dr. Maradith Skalak is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Neonatology with Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine before completing her pediatrics residency in Detroit, MI and her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine in Cincinnati, OH. She enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and divides her clinical time between level III and level IV NICUs in New Orleans. She has interests in quality improvement, physician communication, and is currently completing a master’s degree in bioethics and medical humanities at Tulane University.
