Dr. Sylvie Rosenbloom is one of our newest Editorial Review Group Chairs, overseeing reviews for Advanced Practice Nursing titles since September 2024. Before becoming Chair, Dr. Rosenbloom contributed as a reviewer under ERG Chair, Dr. Susan DeNisco. To date, Dr. Rosenbloom has reviewed nine titles and her team has covered books on topics ranging from pharmacotherapeutics and physical examination to diagnosis and nursing standards and guidelines. 

Sylvie Rosenbloom, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CDCES is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Mercy University. Dr. Rosenbloom obtained her BSN and MSN at Pace University and her DNP at Sacred Heart University. She has been in academia since 2015.   

Dr. Rosenbloom has taught advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, primary care, and research courses. She successfully implemented Mercy University School of Nursing’s first White Coat Ceremony which featured Dr. Ena Williams, CNO of Yale New Haven Hospital. 

Dr. Rosenbloom has practiced clinically in the areas of emergency medicine, women’s health, cardiology, and primary care. She currently maintains a clinical practice in a primary care internal medicine clinic. Her research interests include interprofessional education, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.  

Dr. Rosenbloom has been reviewing books for Doody Enterprises, Inc. since 2023 and became the Advanced Practice Nursing Editorial Chair in September 2024. Dr. Rosenbloom enjoys reviewing nursing textbooks because she believes it is essential for maintaining up-to-date knowledge and ensuring best practices in patient care. The health care field is constantly evolving with new research findings, updated clinical guidelines, and advancements in medical technology. By reviewing textbooks, nursing professionals can reinforce foundational concepts, stay informed about current evidence-based practices, and enhance their clinical decision-making skills. Additionally, regular review helps prepare for certification exams, supports continuing education requirements, and fosters a deeper understanding of complex medical conditions and treatments, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes. 

About one of her recent reads, Dr. Rosenbloom shares, “I recently had the pleasure of reviewing Gawlik’s Evidence-Based Physical Examination: Best-Practices for Health and Well-Being Assessment, 2^nd Edition (Springer Publishing, 2025), which I tremendously appreciated. This textbook provides in-depth physical assessment information and helps the reader develop critical thinking skills needed to formulate a list of differential diagnoses when caring for an individual. I praise the author for including case studies, clinical pearls, and key takeaway points.”
