Founded in 1852, the American Pharmacists Association is the largest organization of pharmacists in the U.S. and is the publisher of two mainstay titles in the profession: Handbook of Nonprescription Drugs: An Interactive Approach to Self-Care, now in its 17th edition, and Medication Errors, in its 2nd edition. Both have been selected for Doody’s Core Titles 2014, and the OTC Handbook, as it is known, has been designated an Essential Purchase Title. APhA has a small but focused publishing program. We have received four of its titles over the past year and have reviewed three of them. All three have garnered 4-star reviews. Most APhA books are available on their proprietary website, PharmacyLibrary (www.pharmacylibrary.com), along with case studies article abstracts from its journal and other resources of interest to pharmacy students. PharmacyLibrary is also one of our ebook discoverability partners, providing links from titles at Doody’s Review Service and Doody’s Core Titles directly to information about the online versions.
