1 Comment on Publisher Profile: Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International 119
In 1922, six nurses founded the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) at the Indiana University Training School for Nurses, which is now the Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis, Indiana. STTI now has more than 135,000 active members in more than 85 countries. Among its many educational efforts, STTI has an active publishing program, producing scholarly books on a wide range of topics in nursing and healthcare that are of interest to members and other nurses around the world.
Since 2001, STTI has sent us 121 books and we have published reviews of 86 of them. In the past year, we’ve received 13 titles and published reviews of eight of them, with three more currently out for review. Although a small publisher, STTI titles regularly appear on the annual Doody’s Core Titles lists. Doody’s Core Titles 2015 is no exception, featuring nine STTI titles, including one that was selected in two different specialties, while four of them were designated Essential Purchase titles by librarians.
