Dr. Peter Nau has served as Editorial Review Group Chair for Gastrointestinal Surgery since 2017, though he has been a reviewer for even longer. Since 2017, he and his group of reviewers have reviewed 71 of the 112 books we have sent.

Dr. Nau is a clinical associate professor of minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at the University of Iowa. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Nau’s clinical interests include minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. He has authored and co-authored many journal articles, book chapters, and books, including 2020 Doody’s Core Title, The SAGES Manual of Flexible Endoscopy, Nau et al. (Springer, 2020).
