No Comments on Specialty Profile: Active Military and Veteran Health Care 175
This month’s specialty profile on Active Military and Veteran Health Care represents Issue 1 of Volume 4 of Doody’s Special Topics Lists.
Following our previous Doody’s Special Topics List on PTSD and Trauma-Informed Care, this month’s DSTL is dedicated to Active Military and Veteran Health Care (AM&VHC). PTSD, Trauma-Informed Care, and AM&VHC go hand in hand, as they are vital to ensuring both the physical and mental well-being of these individuals as they transition back into civilian life. This curated list, handpicked by our studious group of List Selectors, gathers a wide variety of titles that are critical for military and veteran health, both on the field and at home. For active military members, the collected titles include a wide range of topics, such as field hospital management, first responder and frontline surgery techniques, emergency medicine, casualty care, and more. For veterans, it is integral to provide long-term mental health support. The collected titles on Veteran Health Care include topics such as social reintegration, family reunification, stress reduction and resilience, moral injury, suicide risk assessment, and trauma treatment. Through gathering a broad spectrum of titles, this list aims to provide a well-rounded understanding of healthcare needs for both service members and veterans. This list will serve as an indispensable reference guide for librarians and healthcare professionals in honoring a responsibility to provide and improve the holistic well-being of those who serve and protect their country.
This Doody’s Special Topics List is comprised of 69 titles collected from 24 publishers. The prices of these titles range from $0 to $299.99, with an average cost of $107.53. There are 13 AM&VHC titles that appear on Doody’s Core Titles 2023, including Manual of Traumatic Brain Injury: Assessment and Management, 3rd Edition, Zollman (Springer Publishing, 2022) and The Routledge International Handbook of Military Psychology and Mental Health, Kumar (Routledge, 2020).
