Iris Kovar-Gough has served as Editorial Review Group Chair of Dictionaries and Medical Terminology for Doody’s Review Service since May 2020. Of the 11 books we’ve sent, Ms. Kovar-Gough has reviewed seven of them. 

Iris Kovar-Gough is the current interim Head of Health Sciences at Michigan State University Libraries and the Liaison Librarian to the College of Human Medicine since 2014. She has an MA in Classical Archaeology and MLIS in Library and Information Services, both from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Her knowledge of ancient Greek, Latin, and medical terminology is a core skill underpinning her as chair for Dictionaries and Medical Terminology texts. Ms. Kovar-Gough has published in the Journal of the Medical Library Association, Family Medicine, Health Affairs, and Academic Medicine. Ms. Kovar-Gough is active in the Medical Library Association as the former chair of the Collection Development Caucus. She is also a member of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) and was a member of AAHSL’s Competency Based Medical Education Taskforce, which published their work in BMC Medical Education in 2017.
