Dr. Jessica Hwang has served as the Editorial Review Group Chair for Endocrinology/Metabolic Disease since September 2021. During that time, we have sent her 33 titles in the specialty. Between Dr. Hwang and her group of 13 reviewers, they have reviewed 21 titles.  

Dr. Hwang is originally from the East Coast, but after attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, she fell in love with the Midwest and went on to complete all her medical education in Chicago. She obtained her medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed her internal medicine residency and endocrine fellowship at the University of Chicago. 

Dr. Hwang is an attending physician at Cook County Health and an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at Rush Medical College. She practices general endocrinology, but has a special clinical interest in atypical diabetes, which stems from working with the monogenic diabetes research team at the University of Chicago.
