Elsevier, last profiled on DCDM in 2014, continues to be a leader in medical publishing. In addition to books and iconic reference works, such as Gray’s Anatomy, today Elsevier offers digital solutions such as ScienceDirect, Scopus, and ClinicalKey to support clinical decision support and health education, along with 2,500+ digitized journals, including The Lancet and Cell, and 40,000 ebook titles. Elsevier book titles feature prominently each year in Doody’s Core Titles. Of the 2,246 titles selected by librarians for DCT 2021, 538 were published by Elsevier, the most titles of any publisher. Of these, 143 were deemed Essential Purchase titles for small libraries. Over the last year, we have received 353 books from Elsevier, with 139 reviewed and 67 still out for review, and 58 having received a Doody’s Star Rating of four or five stars.
