Dr. Robert Gaiser is the Editorial Review Group Chair for Anesthesiology. Since March 2019, we have sent him 117 books. During that time, he and his expert team of reviewers have reviewed 69 titles.  

Dr. Gaiser is an obstetric anesthesiologist who completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, his medical education at Columbia University College of Physicians, his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and his fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Following his fellowship, Dr. Gaiser remained on staff for the next 24 years. He was appointed as program director in 2001 and remained in that position until he left in 2016 to become chair at the University of Kentucky. After four years as chair, he returned to the east coast and is the current Core Residency Program Director at Yale University. He served on the ACGME Review Committee for Anesthesiology from 2012 to 2018 and was part of the ACGME’s Phase I and Phase II Task Forces for recent revision of the Common Program Requirements. He is a director for the American Board of Anesthesiology where he serves as the Chair of the Assessments and Non-Standard Examination Committees. He is an assistant editor for Anesthesia & Analgesia and serves as a member of the Continuing Certification Committee of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
