Dr. Jeffrey Rosenthal has served as Editorial Review Group Chair for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 2002. During his tenure, he has received 311 books and (solely!) reviewed 217 of those titles.
Dr. Rosenthal has been in private practice since 1985, specializing in cosmetic surgery and procedures to naturally rejuvenate the face, while also practicing as an artist. Dr. Rosenthal combines his medical expertise with his visual imagery to create that which others only dream about. Whether working on a face or canvas, he notes, “Time is never a factor and one should never rush; rather, balance, harmony, and beauty are the integral components of the final result.” Dr. Rosenthal always takes time to carefully evaluate a patient’s face, listen to their concerns, and design a plan that is unique to them: “I specialize in the natural look,” he says. With cosmetic surgery offices in Connecticut, New York, and South Carolina, Dr. Rosenthal’s patients travel great distances to experience the combination of his art and surgical skills. Known for his artistry in and out of the office, he has exhibited paintings, photography, poetry, children’s books, and sculptures in stone, metal, and wood in France, Connecticut, and New York, with his most recent exhibit showcasing 22 of his paintings at the Discovery Museum in Connecticut. He has also written extensively about the need for kindness in the world and the requirement to care for others. He states that he always enjoys the challenge of creativity and the delight his art brings to all.
Dr. Rosenthal is the former chief of plastic surgery at Bridgeport Hospital, a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Connecticut Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Fairfield County Medical Association. He received his training from various medical institutions, including his general surgery residency at Bridgeport Hospital with additional specialty training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, Yale School of Medicine, Boston University Hospitals, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and his plastic surgery residency at Nassau County Medical Center and affiliated hospitals including Nassau Hospital, North Shore Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, and Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Rosenthal is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including America’s Best Physicians, Who’s Who in the World (given to only 3% of professionals), the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, Real Self Top Doctor, Top Plastic Surgeon, Top Plastic Surgeon in Connecticut, Best of Fairfield Award, Trademark Top Doctors of America Honors Edition Award, Patient’s Choice Award, the Spectrum Award for Excellence in Customer Service, Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award, Vitals Patient Choice Award, and Castle Connolly’s America’s Cosmetic Doctors Award.
