The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is celebrating its centennial this year. It was founded in 1917 as the American Dietetic Association by a visionary group of women dedicated to helping the government conserve food and improve the public’s health and nutrition during World War I.  The name was officially changed in 2012 and, today, it is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, with over 100,000 credentialed practitioners, including registered dietitian nutritionists, dietetic technicians, registered, other dietetics professionals with undergraduate and advanced degrees in nutrition and dietetics, and students.

Since it became a participating publisher in late 2000, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has sent us 66 of its books, and we have published reviews of 45 of them. In the past year, we’ve received two of their titles, both of which have been reviewed. Doody’s Core Titles 2016 features four of its titles, one of which was selected in two specialties.
