ASM Press is the book publishing division of the American Society for Microbiology, the largest single life science society, composed of over 47,000 scientists and health professionals. American Society for Microbiology was founded in 1899 as the Society of American Bacteriologists. In 1960, it was renamed the American Society for Microbiology. In addition to books, the society currently publishes 12 subscription journals and five open access journals. ASM Press became a participating publisher in Doody’s Review Service in 1994 and has sent us 200 of its titles since then. We’ve received 15 ASM Press titles in the past year, most in the past month. We’ve published one review, with six currently just out for review. Doody’s Core Titles 2016 features 10 ASM Press titles, four of which were selected in two or more specialties, and two of which were selected as Essential Purchase titles.ASM Press is also one of our Discoverability partners, providing links from our sites directly to ebook versions of their titles.
