Steven Hamick has served as the Editorial Review Group Chair for Respiratory Therapy and Integrated Sciences for Doody’s Review Service since 2005 — far beyond the three-year commitment we ask of Chairs. Over the last 12 years, we have sent him 186 titles in the two specialties and he is responsible for getting reviews of 123 of them. Mr. Hamick has recruited 14 reviewers, but he has written fully two-thirds of the reviews himself.

Mr. Hamick received his AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy from the University of Toledo in 1993 and his Bachelor’s of Individualized Studies in Natural Sciences from Lourdes University.  Since 1997, he has worked at Beaumont Health – Royal Oak Campus, a 1,069 bed institution in Michigan. Currently, he is the Department of Respiratory Care’s educator as well as a clinical supervisor. He is also a member of American Association of Respiratory Care and of the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care, where he is currently president-elect.
