Since December of 2006, Dr. McDonnell, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at Temple University School of Pharmacy, has chaired the Pharmacy Editorial Review Group. In that time, we have sent him an astounding 658 titles, and he and his 67 reviewers have submitted reviews of an even more astounding 402 titles for Doody’s Review Service.

Dr. McDonnell received a BS degree in Medical Technology/Biochemistry from the University of Scranton, and his PharmD degree from Temple University. He completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice at Temple University Hospital prior to his current faculty appointment.

Dr. McDonnell specializes in the area of drug-induced disease, adverse drug reactions, and medication safety. He is one of the primary instructors in Temple University School of Pharmacy’s Medication Safety Track taught in conjunction with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP). He recently received the Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching, one of the first clinical educators to receive that award at Temple University. He and his colleagues also have received recognition for medication safety programs for work in venothromboembolism prophylaxis. He has publications in a variety of pharmacy/medical journals, as well as serving as a professional reviewer.
