No Comments on Editorial Review Group Chair: Belinda Setters, MD, MS, FACP, AGSF 133
Dr. Belinda Setters has been the Editorial Review Group Chair for Geriatric Medicine since November 2019. Over the past two years, we have sent Dr. Setters 27 books and she and her review group have reviewed 19.
Dr. Setters earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology from Western Kentucky University before receiving her medical degree from the University of Louisville in 2002. She went on to complete her training with a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Sciences in Indianapolis (Indiana University affiliates). She then returned to Kentucky where she is currently an associate clinical professor of geriatrics and palliative medicine at the University of Louisville and director of inpatient geriatrics at the Robley Rex Veterans Hospital. Her research interests include delirium, frailty, and age-friendly hospital/health-system redesign. She is a past Geriatric Academic Career Award (GACA) recipient of the HRSA Geriatric Award and is currently working to identify and improve care for dementia patients who are un-befriended and/or non-decisional early in hospitalization.
She is actively involved in the American Geriatric Society as a fellow and serves on the Clinical Practice and Models of Care Committee where she serves as committee vice-chair as well as chair of the Clinical Review Subcommittee. She is honored to have been named as a Top Doc Award recipient by the Louisville medical community and was the first Chief’s Lead by Example awardee in geriatrics and extended care at the Louisville VA.
