Dr. Matthew Rouse has served as Editorial Review Group Chair in Speech, Language & Hearing since March 2019. With such a heavily published field, we have sent him 107 books in the past two and a half years, and he and his faculty have submitted reviews of 65 of them so far.
Dr. Rouse is currently the Dean of the School of Science, Technology and Health at Biola University. After receiving a BS in Biology from the University of Redlands in 1990, he transitioned into the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders, receiving an MS in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands in 1992 and a doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2009 from Nova Southeastern University. He worked full-time in the hospital system as a medical speech-language pathologist from 1992 to 1999 and part-time from 1999-2002. In 1999, Dr. Rouse accepted a faculty position at Biola University teaching in the communication disorders program and served as the Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders from 2007-2019. His research interests include neuroscience and neurogenic communication disorders. Dr. Rouse is the author of Neuroanatomy for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (Jones & Bartlett Learning, 2020), now in its second edition.
